BOSTON, Mass. – November 7, 2012 – In today’s tumultuous health care environment, physicians and patients are increasingly concerned with having the right information about treatment options. Healthcare professionals and payers agree that one way to improve quality and reduce costs is for patients to become more active participants in their own healthcare. Shared Decision Making empowers people to make better decisions and to become more informed consumers through discussions with providers around treatment preferences directly at the point of care.
