Health Dialog Role
My work time is roughly divided between writing and editing patient information materials, and taking part as a team member in the development of tools used by Health Dialog's Heath Coaches. I also serve occasionally as copyeditor/proofreader on corporate projects. Right now, I'm writing and editing the companion booklets that accompany our Shared Decision-Making videos, contributing to the Health Crossroads website, and working on a revision of the Chronic Condition Guide. One highlight for me these days is my involvement in the development of an electronic Decision Guide that coaches use with members who are making decisions about significant medical events, such as treating cancer, back pain, and fibroids, among others. This one is exciting because we are collaborating with Dr. Annette O'Connor, a world expert in medical decision-making. In general, I really like the balance of these projects, and the variety they offer.
