Health Dialog calculates chronic condition medical cost savings using an adjusted historical control methodology. Health Dialog’s methodology has been published in a peer-reviewed journal (see Fetterolf, D., Wennberg, D., Devries, A., “Estimating the Return on Investment in Disease Management Programs Using a Pre-Post Analysis,” Disease Management, Volume 7, Number 1, 2004 ), is validated by client and other actuaries, and is fully compliant with the recently published principles of the Disease Management Association of America (DMAA). Health Dialog used an events-avoided methodology for non-chronic members.
